Guided imagery, also called guided meditation, is a powerful technique that works very well any holistic healing practice. It is a mild form of hypnotherapy that can help you relax just enough to clear blocks, receive inner guidance and still remain fully aware of the present moment.
It is also a relaxation technique that has been clinically proven to help manage stress, emotional discomfort, anger, pain, sleep disorders, preparation for surgery, pregnancy and more.
Guided imagery works so well because the thoughts and beliefs that we visualize in our minds can be just as powerful whether they are real or imagined. It still produces the same emotion.
When the mind and body are deeply relaxed, almost in a dream-like state, the subconscious mind is more receptive to learning, healing, creativity, performance and intuition.
Most importantly, the more emotion, desire, passion and belief put into the imagery, the quicker and more effective the results will be.
You will want to create a safe, quiet, comfortable place to listen to the recordings. Some things that can enhance the session may include:
- Soft music with no voice
- Burning candle
- Sound of water running
